Description of Assignment:
LRS Consulting Services is seeking an entry level SQL Server DBA for a six month contract to hire opportunity in the Kansas City area. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door and your career started with an exciting company and huge possibilities.
Job Role:
• Administer database, web, application and batch process servers with a primary focus on database monitoring and management.
• Provide basic support and troubleshooting for several database environments and SQL 2005/2008.
• Work closely with developers, support and QA teams to maintain all database environments.
• Refresh SQL databases as needed by developers or functional teams.
• Perform database administration activities including installation, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery and disaster recovery.
• Work with senior level DBA's to accomplish database tasks.
Basic Requirements:
· Knowledge of database administration, SDLC and systems analysis procedures.
· Basic working knowledge of database software and operating systems.
· Able to support and maintain databases.
· Able to perform database administration activities.
· Candidates must have perm authorization to work in the US
