Kansas City is one of the premier centers of technology and engineering design in the country. Numerous civil infrastructure design/construction and engineering/manufacturing firms with national and international reputation are headquartered in Kansas City. This offers a unique opportunity to our students, many of whom participate actively as interns or as employees with these firms during the course of their study, thereby, getting a balanced blend of course work and practical experience.

Job opportunities abound for engineering and computer science majors. In terms of starting salaries and the number of job offers, engineering and computer science graduates compare favorably with all other graduates.

UMKC Career Services

SCE encourages students to utilize the resources available at UMKC’s Career Services
Center
. Here you can find information on career fairs and on-campus recruitment opportunities, assistance with resume writing and interviewing skills, and search for jobs using CareerExec, an employment database with local, national and on-campus job opportunities. These services are free to both current students and UMKC alumni.

A sampling of the jobs available through CareerExec can be found on the SCE Job Postings page.  It's important to understand that the SCE Job Postings are not comprehensive.

Beginning August 27, a Career Services representative will be available to SCE students on Thursdays from 2:30-5:30 pm in room 560K.

Employers are encouraged to use CareerExec, where you can create an account and post an unlimited number of job opportunities at no cost. Jobs can be posted to the SCE website by contacting:
