First Place in Stiffness at Nationals
The UMKC ASCE Steel Bridge Team scored 1st Place in Stiffness at the annual National Steel Bridge Competition, and placed 7th Overall. This was our best year yet and let work to improve upon this for the next year.

Welcome to the ASCE/Steel Bridge Site
Our goal first and foremost is to learn as a group the skills required to complete and succeed with a project. Steel bridge requires a tremendous commitment from a group of students if we are to be successful. So it is imperative for us to succeed that we build a team.
As a team it is our goal to place well at regional competition and advance to nationals. The last of our goals is to build a frame work for steel bridge to continuously succeed at UMKC. In the past we have had the problem of knowledge and relationships being lost when seniors graduate and move on. What we would like to do is to put measures in place that allow us to pass on everything we learn and develop such that each year we have a wider breadth of information and resources to use. Also important to this plan is being able to recruit freshmen and sophomore students where as last year our team was composed primarily of juniors and seniors who had never been involved with the competition before, this made everything extremely difficult.
